The 100th season is finally officially over

Well the no good very bad HORRENDOUS season is now officially over which only got worse with Saquon Barkley and the Eagles hoisting up the Lombardi Trophy after dismantling the Chiefs. After the historically worst season on and off of the field the Giants organization can finally “rest” and try and reset themselves for next season.

Obviously QB is the number one plan whether it be Rookie or Vet or both which I along with many others believe to be the best form of action going forward. They need a rookie for the future and a Vet for the now to guide our rookie to where he needs to be. While not every rookie may need that just look at Jayden Daniels and the Commanders it’s never a negative thing to just be prepared. Look at Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and even Tom Brady. They all sat behind a made QB to then get their moments and not look back. It will clearly not be a Jordan Love situation where he sits for who knows how long but it could be like a Drake Maye or Michael Penix type of plan where give them time to learn for a certain amount of weeks and if the starter isn’t cutting it then throw the rookie in.

The issue I see going with this though depends on who we draft. I think Cam Ward will take having to sit for a little bit better than Shedeur Sanders will but that may just be me. I also think Wards ceiling is higher than Sanders but again that may just be me and what do I know i’m just a guy from Jersey.

Other than the QB situation I know a lot of what I am going to say is restating the obvious. The Giants need to figure out their DB’s ASAP that along with the poor QB play is what has killed them. Throughout the past few years especially they have been close in so many games great play or poor play from either side of the ball but our DB’s but CBs specifically have not had the ability to be shut down guys. The rookies from this previous season did a good job but definitely looking to see how they progress going into year 2 because Banks has not been working out but from what I recall he didn’t have as good as a season as Nubin or Phillips. Nubin and Banks have two different styles of play but as we saw one is working and the other isn’t we will see how the team decides to address it going forward.
